Paragliding and the Remote-Controlled Paraglider

Teaser Picture for Remote-Controlled Paraglider

As we all know, paragliding wings are meant to fly people. But a new method of paragliding has been developed by Andre and Gemma of andrebandarra.com. It all started while thinking “how it would be to build a paraglider... but remote-controlled?” Today we will let you know about it. But first, let’s make every reader happy, either a professional, an amateur or an enthusiast, and make clear once and for all.

What is the Difference Between Paragliding and Parachuting?

Parachuting is the action, in which a person jumps from an airplane or from a high point on the ground, and returns to the Earth (or a lower level of the Earth) thanks to the gravity force, but slowing with the help of the parachute. Besides being used as a sport, parachuting is also very common in the military personnel and time to time also by the forest firefighters.

Paragliding is mostly a recreational or competitive sport, categorized as adventurous, that consists on free-flying a foot-launched paraglider. Paragliding doesn’t use an engine to fly, but still the flight can last for hours and hundreds of kilometers.

In simple terms: parachuting is more like a safe free fall; paragliding is more like a limited flight.

The Remote-Controlled Paraglider

Andre and Gemma are now well known not only for their paragliding skills, but also because of their own remote-controlled Paraglider. Believe it or not, but most probably this is seen as the world’s largest remote-controlled paraglider.

It’s just like a normal paraglider, but remote-controlled. Thanks to a camera installed in the paraglider, we are able to experience what is it like. In the meantime, no one is on the paraglider, but it still flies away normally. The results are amazing! Here’s a sneak peek trailer of the remote-controlled paraglider:
